Good Enough

The lack of motivation  can sometimes make you feel like your muse has left you. Especially, when your working on a scene and suddenly can’t decide what happens next. One of the things, I do is have the character in that particular scene I’m working on  write me a letter. As funny as that seems you’d be surprised at the answers you get. Writing is supposed to be fun,but I for one worried that every word has to be “perfect.” Until one day, I realized I’d never finish writing my book if I kept going over and over the same scene.

Then of course you over think what you’ve  written and you question if your Good Enough? I learned a lot of this very topic from a site I found online and downloaded the eBook.  The site name  whose name escapes me at the moment. Actually, it’s the second book I read on this very topic.  The other one is “I’m Good Enough, I’m Smart Enough and Doggone it  People like me. By Al Franken of Saturday Night live fame. It was meant to be funny, but there was a lot of truth in  it. It’s an old book, but worth reading. I have read it twice and loved more the second time than I did the first time.

If you would go to the site below and either contribute to my campaign,or share it on your Facebook,or Twitter Page. I’m trying to raise money to Self Publish My Children’s book a portion of my sales from  book will go to the Lions club who help under privileged children get eye glasses.  I would really appreciate your help.

Thanking you in advance,

June

Postive Reaction Apposed to a Negative reaction.

Having a positive attitude can lead you to success,as opposed to  listening to that negative voice in your head. When that happens  to me I let it know in no uncertain terms “Your not the boss of me!.”

It is said that the way we think has a great deal in how the outcome turns out. So, it goes with our writing. After getting  several rejection There are times you want to tear your manuscript up,but you don’ t. There is a positive in all these rejections.  Every rejection brings you closer to publication. You haven’t found the right publisher that’s all.

The bathroom needs new walls paper? You can always paper it with your rejection letters. .  The only thing negative thinking does is bring negative results.

. Allow yourself a certain amount of time to grieve, lets face it is a loss. Then as they say brush yourself off and start again. You know you’re a good writer. Like the little train that could  you can make it over that” hill”.  He did in spite of himself.

One day when your book could end up on the New York Times best-selling authors list and you’ll be glad you never gave up.

“Oh, you say that will never happen” How do you know? Anything is possible..  Think big!  Picture it happening. Your book might even become a movie. Like I said It could happen..

I’ve had my share of rejections, some of them kind, some of them not so kind. I’m still writing in spite of them.. As long as we keep the negative thoughts out of are heads we will end up were we want to be. In the end  hey, it’s there loss.

What you perceive you will achieve.

Hey, What’s so Funny?

When I got into writing seventeen years ago It was because of two oldest nieces.  Both girls where in collage out of state and coincidentally, in the same college.  I being the worrywart aunt didn’t want them to feel home sick. So, I created  two college age characters and told a story about what each one was doing. Humours stories of course.

Speaking of which I love writing humor. Humor can get you through just about anything.  Besides, who couldn’t  use a laugh every now and again?  You would be surprised at how many funny things turn into a story. Instead of” beating myself up” because I misspelled a word,or ahem posted my blog without proof reading it.”  In a hurry to post it.”Hey, I say to myself you didn’t kill anybody. Let this be the worst thing you do.”

Keeping a positive attitude will keep you focused..

Having, said how I feel about humor that i’m going to share a bit of humor with you.

Most of us write everyday.un intrupted of course except for the phone ringing, the dog barking begging for a treat. My answer to that. Naturally, I give him the whole bag Which she promptly hides and cries because she can’t find it. Of course later when he looks at you with his big brown eyes and crosses his paws because he wants to go out.

“Ha you really know how to lay on the guilt dog.” I call him  dog  because we never got around to naming him.

By we I mean my “husband”. .

“George the dog needs to go out. He grunts and goes back to watch the game.

Of course this short snip is pure fiction. Since I don’t have a husband or a dog,but its humor.

This blog today has bits and pieces of everything. It’s like baking a cake. I’ve thrown  in a  little of this and a little of that.

I hope you find humor in it.

When The Words Won’t Come.

Did you ever look at the bud of a Spring  flower? Day after day you look at hoping it had bloomed.  You become  Impatience and  force yourself  to stop watching it.. Then one day you “visit” the bud and find  that the little  bud, has now turned into a beautiful flower. A flower will  bloom if it gets enough water and sunshine.  If it doesn’t get enough water and sunshine it won’t   bloom.  So, goes, it  with our writing.

You work on a story you want so much  turn into a novel. . You get frustrated, you’re tempted to delete it, but  common sense tells you this is not the answer. So, you  don’t  delete it..( Never,Ever delete a story.) (In all honesty, I have to admit when I first started writing, I did delete a story and have regretted it ever since.)   Just like a flower it takes time to grow your story and  if your patient story will turn out to be something you are very proud of.. .

I’m repeating something I said in an  earlier blog.  Surround yourself with like minds they will support you when you’re struggling. . I know, I have those kind of friends.

I’m inclosing a short snip it from the book I’m working on.

From a distance, I could see him coming toward me  My heart beat faster the closer he came.. His ebony  hair  had turned to silver, but the smile he gave me I remembers so well. As  I looked in to his eyes the years folded away and the tears slid down my face. Why they broke up I couldn’t remember. Suddenly it all came back to me.

This story still needs a lot of work, but as you can see the words did come.

Each of us is given a talent writing is mine.

Sunshine and Roses always!
